Brownfield Redevelopment

EGS assists local municipalities and developers in identifying and obtaining funding sources for implementing cost-effective environmental site assessments (ESAs or PAs) and designing remedial investigations (RI) and remedial action (RA) work plans.

EGS understands that a flexible, creative, and innovative approach for Brownfield Redevelopment is critical for project success and maximum return.

EGS can prepare Brownfield Redevelopment Work Plans and assist local government in preparing applications for State and Federal Brownfield Loan and Grand Programs. Working with experienced real estate, legal, and development professionals, EGS’s Brownfield Redevelopment and Management team can successfully complete all aspects of Brownfield projects.

Over the years, EGS has assisted clients who either own or are in the process of purchasing undeveloped or developed land varying in size. Identification of environmental liability is an important and integral part of the property acquisition and/or transfer in the real estate business.

Federal and state regulations impose liability on the past, current, and future property owners. EGS provides services to owners, buyers, sellers, lenders, and legal counsel to conduct environmental due diligence and assessments.

We identify potential environmental liability by minimizing risk and maximizing shareholder value for clients in property transactions.

 Our experienced professionals provide the following environmental services required for property transactions:

  • ASTM Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs);
    • Preliminary Site Assessment (PA);
    • Site Investigation (SI);

    • Risk and Liability Assessment;
    • Third Party Assessment Review; and
