Preliminary Site Assessment (PA)

Preliminary Site Assessment (NJ SRRA & ISRA Context)

Under New Jersey regulations, a Preliminary Assessment (PA) is essential when:

  • Submitting an Industrial Site Recovery Act (ISRA) Notice
  • Seeking a final remediation determination
  • Converting a site for use as a childcare center or school
  • Receiving a court or Department mandate

Since May 2009, the Site Remediation Reform Act (SRRA) requires a Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP) to issue a Response Action Outcome (RAO) – superseding the NFA – for validating the completion of remediation.

What Our Preliminary Site Assessment Covers:

  • Comprehensive review of site history, operations, and regulatory notices.
  • Detailed identification of Areas of Concern (AOCs) per Technical Requirements (N.J.A.C. 7:26E-3.1).
  • Customized investigation planning that aligns with NJDEP guidance – especially for educational facilities.
  • Strategic support toward obtaining an RAO, safeguarding project timelines and compliance.
